Defender Omar Elabdellaoui returned a positive test for Covid-19 last week which led to plenty of toing and froing in Norway as detailed here.

The Celtic duo were part of the squad who were at the airport ready to fly to Romania for the game when they found out they weren’t allowed to by health authorities in the country.

It is being reported in Norway that Ajer and Elyounoussi, as well as all other foreign-based members of the squad, have been told they have to self-isolate for the remaining period after returning back to where they play their football.

In this case, the Celtic pair will not be available for Saturday’s match.

The Scottish champions will likely ask for clarity on the position.

It will provide Hibs and manager Jack Ross with a huge boost as they look to get back to winning ways in the league after defeat to Aberdeen.

For Neil Lennon, it is the latest coronavirus-related headache. During the previous international break the club lost Ryan Christie, Nir Bitton, Hatem Abd Elhamed and Odsonne Edouard.

All four missed the Old Firm defeat to Rangers at Parkhead.

Ajer and Elyounoussi have featured in at least 17 of Celtic’s matches so far this campaign.
