Rangers have made an enquiry to Hibs regarding a loan move for striker Florian Kamberi, according to Sky Sports, with the broadcaster claiming any potential deal between the two clubs would include an option to buy.

Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard is looking to beef up his attacking options following the calf injury sustained by veteran forward Jermain Defoe in the 2-0 midweek win over Ross County and is understood to be keen on the former Grasshoppers forward. The Light Blues are also holding talks with Romanian attacker Ianis Hagi.

Kamberi, 24, has scored eight goals in all competitions this season for the Capital club and was the subject of two failed bids from Polish outfit Lech Poznan earlier this month.

Swiss side Basel were also linked with a move for the player back in August.

Speaking earlier this month, Easter Road head coach Jack Ross said: "He is happy where he is at the moment.

“I think he has a pathway he’d like to pursue in his career and hopefully I can help him do that but he will only do that if he has that consistency of performance like he produced in the main yesterday. I think he is content here.”
