It was a decision which followed conversations in the club about how they could make a gesture to the NHS.
In addition, the first home league match will be a ‘Thank You NHS Day’, while 100 free tickets will be available for NHS staff for every home league game as Hibs aim to raise six figures for NHS charity, Edinburgh & Lothians Health Foundation.
The club are already on their way to doing so after fans purchased the new shirt in their droves when it went on sale on Friday.

It is a tribute which has earned wide praise and coverage, with American media outlet CNN running a story on the club’s gesture.
Hibs’ chief executive Leeann Dempster said: “There is a real appreciation for everything that is being done by the NHS and when we say NHS, we really mean everyone working in that care-giving environment.
“We already walk the walk when it comes to offering our support, but we just wanted to add another layer. It’s not just about the words on the shirt and this encompasses everyone who works within a general caring environment.”
Ipswich Town have followed suit with the announcement that they will display the same message on the back of their shirt.
