Hide AdOwner Ron Gordon issued a statement to fans last month making them aware that “difficult decisions will have to be made” but noted Hibs are “better positioned than most to weather the storm”.
He said: “Every decision we make will be with two key priorities in mind, firstly to look after our people, and, secondly, to ensure the club remains in as healthy a financial position as possible.”
During the period when the cuts are in place the club will not make any signings. Only when they are lifted will Hibs look to make additions to their squad, the Evening News understands.
The club will still be making plans for any eventualities with potential recruits being assessed and shortlists being drawn up.

There is still no clue as to when football will resume, while there is uncertainty about the contracts which are set to expire at the end of the season if the campaign is prolonged. These issues are set to be discussed by Uefa in a progress meeting taking place via video conference today.
