The Scotland international was a huge success in the Hibs midfield across more than 100 games, helping the club to Scottish Cup and Scottish Championship victories.

Since moving to Sunderland to play for Jack Ross in the summer of 2018 it hasn't gone as well. The 26-year-old has played just a minute of football since October.

Parent club Bradford City have a recall option which they may take advantage of.

The Daily Record make mention of speculation regarding an Ibrox switch and how there is nothing in.

Considering the history between all parties, it would be one of the most surprising Scottish football transfers in recent years.

When Allan left Hibs in 2015 it was between Celtic and Rangers for his services, with the playmaker opting for Parkhead ahead of a team still in the Scottish Championship.
