Ahead of the start of the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership season, Hibs have announced a revamp of Hibs TV. Supporters are yet to be given the green light to return to stadiums amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and clubs are beefing up their TV offerings to satisfy football-starved fans.

Why has Hibs TV been revamped?

The club’s TV channel has been around in some form or another for nearly 20 years, but with potentially thousands of fans all wanting to log in and watch matches when the season is up and running, a revamp ensures Hibs are able to deliver high quality content to subscribers in the UK and overseas.

Who’s on board?

Prominent broadcaster and former Sky Sports presenter David Tanner will be the main presenter with former Hibs striker Tam McManus joining him for co-commentary and match analysis. Long-serving Hibs TV commentator Cliff Pike, and match day commentator Dave Armstrong will also be describing the action from Easter Road.

What is on offer?

Hibs have pledged to "up the ante" with the new-look Hibs TV. The club has promised exclusive content from head coach Jack Ross and the players from the Hibernian Training Centre, as well as a glimpse behind the scenes at the Ormiston training base.

On game days, main programme The Match will begin with 30 minutes of build-up to the game with Tanner, McManus, and a “rotating cast of familiar faces” as well as half-time analysis and a post-game round-up.

Season ticket-holders and overseas subscribers will be able to watch every home game live while domestic fans without season tickets will have access to an improved audio offering.

International supporters will be able to watch every league game with commentary provided by Cliff Pike.

Who’s providing the streaming?

Stream Digital have continued their partnership with the club, and work with ten other Scottish Premiership teams. Stream Digital has spent the summer ensuring their servers will be able to handle an inflated audience across the league and throughout the world.

QTV, an award-winning multimedia production firm, are also on board and have a wealth of experience with live sporting events.

How much do packages cost?

Season ticket-holders are granted free and full access to Hibs TV until the stadium returns to full capacity. The beefed-up product, additional content, and increased number of games for international subscribers mean prices have to be bumped up as a result.

Domestic subscription packages cost £7.99 per month, and £79.99 for an annual pass. Overseas fans will pay £17.99 per month or £179.99 for the year.

What do I do if I have problems?

The club has revealed plans to run a test event next week to ensure everything is running smoothly ahead of the curtain-raiser against Kilmarnock on 1 August, and instructions will be sent out to season ticket-holders later this week with information on how to log in to watch matches and access Hibs TV.

Those with other queries should contact [email protected] while further information on season tickets can be found on the ticketing website.
