Hibs host Celtic knowing three points would see them leapfrog Aberdeen back into third at least until the Dons take on Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.

Victory would also help the Hibees close the gap on the Bhoys to just two points, albeit the Hoops have a game in hand.

Neil Lennon's side’s last match was a comprehensive 4-1 win against Motherwell at Fir Park and they will be keen to post another victory on the road as they seek to reduce Ranger’ lead at the top of the table.

However, the Parkhead side have failed to register a league win in Leith since January 2014 when a Kris Commons brace and strikes from Virgil van Dijk and Teemu Pukki sealed a 4-0 success. They have won cup matches at Easter Road since then but of the last five league meetings, Hibs have won two and drawn three – could they make it six league games unbeaten on Saturday?

Team news: Jack Ross is likely to have virtually a full squad to choose from with Scott Allan, Kyle Magennis, and Lewis Stevenson likely to be the only absentees. Christian Doidge could return up front after sitting out the 4-1 Betfred Cup win against Dundee through suspension while the internationalists – Alex Gogic, Ofir Marciano, and Ryan Porteous – are also available for selection.

Sean Mackie will be eyeing a rare starting berth after replacing Josh Doig last weekend while Melker Hallberg and Jamie Gullan both made goalscoring contributions off the bench against the Dark Blues and will hope to be involved. Stevie Mallan's performance could also give Ross a happy dilemma in midfield.
