1. Hibs simply cannot afford to keep gifting the opposition the lead at Easter Road and expect to pick up the points they need if they are to push themselves into a position to challenge for one of the Europa League places. This was the third game in succession that they’d found themselves behind at home while head coach Jack Ross would also have been less than happy to see the opening goal being yet another conceded from a corner which has been a constant problem in recent seasons.

2. Jack Ross is anything but indecisive when things aren’t going to plan. Changes were made as his side struggled against Hamilton recently with the desired effect. And he was quick to react again even although he’d seen his players recover from two goals down to haul themselves level against St Mirren, deadline day signings Paul McGinn, Greg Docherty and Marc McNulty - to a tumultuous welcome - all thrown into action within the first 15 minutes of the second half as he sent Hibs in search of a winner.

3. Anyone who fancies a flutter on the fixed odds could do worse than consider Hibs record this season before placing their bet. The Easter Road side have drawn nine of their Premiership matches, more than any other top flight side with no fewer than six of those stalemates have come at home. Throw in the result at Tannadice which forced a Scottish Cup replay against Dundee United, and the number of draws rises to ten with, incredibly, five of them, including this latest game against St Mirren having ended 2-2. Little wonder Hibs fans ponder over just where there team might have been had they turned even half of those results into wins.
