Azza wrote: "Literally had 14 players in a squad anid it’s basically a third string team. We got the win in the end and nothing else matters in these games. Quality."

Another fan gushed: “Sir David Gray- he’s got that special something- heart of a lion , desire etc There’ll definitely be a statue one day!!”

Dominic Currie said: “Late header from SDG - where have I heard that one before?”

Andy Purdie added: “I’m happy with that tonight Hibs. On a hiding to nothing. Yes we were poor but, with a squad of 15 and half the first team out we would often traditionally get beat. We seem to have a bit of steel about us. It’s not pretty but, getting results.”

Conal Tracey tweeted: “David Gray's head has got Hibs out of a fair few scrapes.”

Ollie J stated: “We were not good at all but any game with a late winner from David Gray has no complaints from me. Hopefully the weird child Hibs fans with footballers in their display pics who dinny go to games will pipe down now.”

JD Hibs added: “3 wins out of 3 with a massively depleted squad. I’ll take that. None of them were pretty to watch but the lads got it over the line!”

Freddie White surmised: “I was expecting a win tonight regardless of the players missing. But that was a tough game and good experience for the lads who aren’t usually involved.”

Connaire Wallace said: “There’s question marks but when all is said and done we’ve had 3 league cup games with a weakened squad and won all 3. Nothing else really matters. Well done Hibs.”

Hibs fan Steven opined: “Tough watch, win's a win. ‘Mon the Hibs. Loads of squad players/kids given a run-out over the last 3 games as well.”
