James McPake: Hibs goal glut caught Dundee boss off guard

Dundee manager James McPake admits that Hibs’ five-minute goal glut caught him completely by surprise.

Hibs responded to Dundee 71st-minute equaliser in their Betfred Cup tie at Easter Road by scoring three further goals themselves to win 4-1.

"I never saw that coming,” admitted the ex-Hibs captain. “At the time you’re thinking maybe we could be the team that could get the winner. They’re not even good goals, that’s not being disrespectful to Hibs but they are goals I would expect our players to stop going in.”
