Jason Cummings could line up against Jurgen Klopp's unbeaten Liverpool side after the former Hibs striker helped Shrewsbury Town to the FA Cup fourth round last night.

League One side Salop were facing Championship opposition in Bristol City but progressed to the next stage of the competition thanks to Andre Pierre's 89th minute winner.

Cummings, part of the Hibs team that won the Scottish Cup in 2016 after a 114-year drought, entered the fray as an 88th-minute replacement for former Rangers midfielder Sean Goss and within 60 seconds had set up Grenada international Pierre for the winner.

The 24-year-old laid the ball off for Pierre to rifle in a low shot from distance and spark scenes of jubilation at New Meadow.

Pierre said after the match: "Took a touch, looked up and saw Jason free, shouted 'one-two', he gave me a little set and then I just struck the ball, easy as that.

"I wasn't expecting it to be as clean as it was but I'm happy it just went in. I didn't even know what to do, I just thought, 'I've scored', ran to the gaffer and the squad and everyone just went crazy."

Shrewsbury now host Liverpool at New Meadow on 26 January.
