Kevin Nisbet to Birmingham? Aitor Karanka has say on chase for Hibs hitman and Aberdeen's Sam Cosgrove

Birmingham City boss Aitor Karanka has admitted he is keen to sign a new striker as the Blues circle for Hibs' Kevin Nisbet and Aberdeen's Sam Cosgrove.

However, Karanka admitted that the English Championship club could be priced out of moves for their targets.Birmingham have had a £2million bid for Cosgrove accepted by the Dons, while their offer Nisbet – also believed to be £2m – is understood to be short of the Easter Road club's valuation of the 23-year-old.

“We are working but if nobody arrives it is because we couldn’t afford the striker and I am not going to come here on February 2 and complain," Karanka said.

“I know how good a job the club is doing in every single area and the club is doing their best to try to bring the right players. So let’s see what is happening.

"When asked how confident he was of bringing in a new forward, Karanka added: "It is a difficult question, 60-70 per cent I am confident that somebody is going to come.”
