Aberdeen boss Craig Brown has no fear over Hibs tie

Aberdeen manager Craig Brown insists his side have no fears over their William Hill Scottish Cup trip to Easter Road.

The Dons booked their place in the last 16 of the competition last night with a 2-1 win at Motherwell, setting themselves up for a mouthwatering clash with Hibs in Edinburgh. The fifth-round tie is due to be played on the first weekend in February and, with Aberdeen hosting Hibs in the SPL on Sunday, January 27 at Pittodrie, the teams will clash twice within the space of a week.

Aberdeen have already won at Easter Road this season, and Brown is unbeaten in his five trips to Leith as Dons manager.

Hibs, however, beat the
Pittodrie men in the semi-
finals of the Scottish Cup in the last campaign. Brown
admits his side will have to be on top of their game if they are to progress this time around but, with a decent away record this season, he is optimistic.

He said: “It’s another testing fixture. We’ve got to rise to the occasion again. We’ve done very, very well away from home, so an away game is not a
disadvantage to us.”
