Hibs issue Europa League venue warning
Hibernian have issued a warning to fans keen to book up for the club’s first foray into Europe since the 2010/11 season.
Supporters have been eager to book flights to follow the club in Europe, after being drawn to face the winners of Malmo FF and Drogheda United.
But the venues for potential matches depends on a number of factors.
St Patrick’s Athletic and Drogheda United both face playing in the Irish capital on the same day, if they beat Vilnius and Malmo respectively, as they have been handed potential first legs at home in the next round.
Should both clubs progress to the second qualifying round, Hibernian’s first leg against Drogheda would take place in Edinburgh, with the return leg being played at Dublin’s Tallaght Stadium.
If St Patrick’s fail to beat Vilnius, and Drogheda progress, then Hibs would play the first leg in Dublin. If Malmo progress, the Easter Road side would travel to Sweden on July 18th for the first leg, with the return leg taking place on July 25th in Leith.
Hibs confirmed they will make an announcement regarding ticketing for the second qualifying round in due course.
