Hibs to offer fans fantastic freebies deal

Hibs are to offer fans a string of “giveaways,” which they claim are worth more than £200, to induce them to buy season tickets.

But supporters only have a month to take advantage of the offers. Provided they buy before April 6, fans will receive a free ticket for a friend for every home Old Firm SPL match – worth, they say, up to £112 – a free home shirt if they buy an away one and they’ll see all home Scottish and League Cup matches for nothing.

In addition, the club are to freeze prices for the coming season while 250 packages allowing children to go free will also be on offer.

Supporters will receive their membership packages in the next week containing application forms, pricing details and the “Early Bird” offers, plus a message from manager Pat Fenlon thanking them for their backing and imploring them to invest in a season ticket again.

After finishing tenth in the SPL table last season, Hibs have struggled throughout the current campaign and currently lie four points ahead of basement outfit Dunfermline which, along with the grim economic climate, has left the club facing a hard sell to supporters.

But Fenlon has underlined the importance of season ticket sales to his plans for taking the club forward. He said: “I know it is a difficult time, and I know it’s their football club. At the end of the day, they will dictate how we move forward as a club. I understand times are harder for everybody.

“But right now, it really is about the supporters of this football club and their great affinity with Hibernian.

“Season ticket members are what the club is all about. They allow the football club to be able to look forward to next season and plan what I can spend on the team.”

Managing director Fife Hyland echoed Fenlon’s words, saying: “We know how difficult it is for people out there, we know when times are tough that people can struggle. In addition, we want to get people out of the pub and into the stadium for the big matches.”
