Three takeaways from Hibs' 2-1 win over St Mirren
Deadly Doidge
Five goals in three games for Christian Doidge, the previously-maligned Welshman. Notably all of them have come from within six yards of goal. He might not be the most spectacular, easy-on-the-eye striker Hibs have ever had, but Doidge clearly has a knack for getting himself in the right position to get a sight of goal. He did little else of note in Paisley but laid the foundations for victory by being the first player to breach a stuffy home defence.
Momentum building
Hibs have now won three games in a row and two in succession under new boss Jack Ross. Including their run of five consecutive Premiership draws at the end of Paul Heckingbottom's reign, they are now unbeaten in eight league games, a run which stretches back to the match against Hearts at Easter Road more than two months ago. From being in the thick of the relegation battle a few weeks ago, sixth-place Hibs are now seven points clear of bottom spot and within four points of the top four. They appear to be on the march.
Elusive clean sheet

Hide AdA two-goal victory would have flattered Hibs in a match that was evenly contested for the majority. However, having got themselves 2-0 up somewhat against the run of play with eight minutes left, the visitors will be slightly disappointed not to have seen out the victory with what would have been a first clean sheet since the Betfred Cup quarter-final win at Kilmarnock two months ago. St Mirren's last minute goal means Hibs haven't kept a clean sheet in the league since the opening-day victory over the Buddies in early August.
