The left-back, who is the only Hibs player ever to have won both the League and Scottish Cup, was granted a testimonial in reward for more than a decade with the Easter Road club and is a popular and useful member of the squad.

Usurped by young Josh Doig for the opening games of this season, and with his contract expected to expire at the end of this term, there were suggestions the 33-year-old would have to leave Hibs in search of regular first-team football.

However, the longest-serving player at the club has fought his way back into manager Jack Ross’ plans, while the guidance and help he has offered both Doig and fellow youngster Sean Mackie has further underlined his value to Hibs on and off the pitch.
