The referee for Hibs’ first away game of the season against Livingston has been signed off by the Scottish FA.

Euan Anderson will be the man in the middle for the Easter Road side’s trip to West Lothian, repeating his duties from the December 2019 clash at the same venue in which Livingston ran out 2-0 winners.

That was one of just two Hibs matches he took charge of last term, the other being the opening-day win against St Mirren. More recently, he handled Hibs’ pre-season friendly match with Celtic at Parkhead.

In 13 Scottish Premiership matches last term, Anderson booked 42 players and sent off two, and awarded three penalties.

His career total for top-flight games is 59 games, 211 yellow and nine red cards, and nine penalty awards.

Anderson, a school teacher by trade, has overseen ten matches involving Hibs across four competitions – Premiership, Championship, Challenge Cup and League Cup.

He has never sent a player off or pointed to the spot in any of those ten matches and booked just one player – Vykintas Slivka – in the last meeting between Hibs and Livingston.

A Category One referee since 2011, Anderson cut his teeth officiating in Scotland’s junior football leagues and now takes charge of matches across Scotland’s four divisions

Anderson will be assisted by Graeme Stewart and Ross Macleod. Steven Kirkland has been named as fourth official.
