Hide AdHibs had a reported five-figure bid accepted by the Paisley club earlier in the week as they looked to cash in on a player in the final six months of his contract.
This didn't stop Cooke from rubbing his old St Mirren buddie on Twitter.
After the official account announced the news, Cooke responded only with a snake emoji.
The two played at St Mirren Park together for the past 18 months. Both signed by ex-Hibs boss Alan Stubbs, they each helped the club remain in the top flight with a play-off final victory over Dundee United.
