He has moved to Tottenham after his time at Hibs.

Nick Montgomery has vowed to stick true to his principles after landing a coaching role at Tottenham.

It’s the former Scotland youth international’s first role since his managerial exit from Hibs before the end of last season. He moves to North London as an assistant coach, as will Sergio Raimundo, who was Montgomery’s number two during his time at Easter Road. Chris Davies’ departure opened up a space in the ranks at Tottenham, with Matt Wells promoted to senior assistant coach to replace the new Birmingham City manager.

After Lee Johnson’s sacking at the start of the 23/24 campaign, Montgomery was brought to the Premiership off the back of an impressive A-League stint at Central Coast Mariners, but didn’t last a full season as head coach, with the curtain brought down on his stint after a 4-0 home defeat to Aberdeen.

Taking to social media, Montgomery has stated that he’ll always abide by his beliefs as he looks forward to Tottenham life. He said: “Always stick to what you believe in, but most importantly believe in yourself and never change who you are. Time for a new challenge and one I can not wait to start. Roll on season 2024/25…”

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou said of Montgomery and Raimundo’s arrivals into his inner coaching circle: "Both Nick and Sergio have a wealth of coaching experience over a number of years.

"They have already demonstrated a strong desire to both develop young talent and implement a football style that I believe will further strengthen the environment we have established. I'm looking forward to working with them."
