The 31-year-old's Easter Road deal expires in the summer and while there have been talks between club and player, the two parties have not yet been able to reach an agreement.

The Capital club remains hopeful of convincing Marciano that his future lies in Edinburgh but they may face competition for his services from other suitors, including Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Be’er Sheva, who are understood to be monitoring the situation.

Marciano is reportedly on the club’s radar as they consider whether or not to bring in reinforcements between the sticks.

Current goalkeeper Ohad Levita came under fire for an error-strewn performance in a 3-0 defeat by Ashdod earlier this month and the HBS hierarchy have not ruled out the option of seeking a replacement in the summer and Marciano, as Israel’s No.1, would be an attractive option on a free.
