After an entertaining but goalless first half, Billy Mckay tapped home from close range after Jordan White’s knockdown.

But Hibs went straight up the other end of the park and won a penalty when Boyle was felled in the box. The same player stepped up and fired the ball past Ross Laidlaw to level the scores, and just minutes later they took the lead when substitute Nisbet slammed home from inside the six-yard area after a period of sustained pressure from the Easter Road side.

White later hit the post for the hosts and Ofir Marciano denied Keith Watson and White again as Hibs held on.

The win takes Hibs six points clear of Aberdeen in the race for third place and ends a run of two defeats ahead of next weekend's trip to face Livingston, who secured a top-six spot with victory over Hamilton.
