Jack Ross has played down speculation linking Hibs with a move for Crewe Alexandra midfielder Ryan Wintle.

Reports on Friday night suggested the Easter Road side had had a bid of £200,000 rejected by the Railwaymen.

Wintle, 23, has played more than 130 games for the League One side since arriving at Gresty Road from non-league Alsager Town in 2015.

Speaking after his side recorded a 3-2 victory over Hamilton, the Hibs boss suggested he was happy with his squad.

Ross said: “I know Ryan. He's a good player at Crewe but for us at the moment, I'm pretty satisfied with where we're at.”

St Mirren midfielder Kyle Magennis is on the cusp of agreeing a move to Easter Road and took in the five-goal thriller from the stand.

However, Ross is not expecting any late transfer business.

He added: “If we do anything else it would be out the blue. I'm pretty happy with my group. They're a brilliant bunch of players.”
