Selfless Hibs fans tell club to keep Scottish Cup final tickets

Hibs released details on Friday morning of how supporters can purchase their share of the 300 tickets given to the Easter Road club for the 2021 Scottish Cup final – though many fans have told the club to consider an alternative.

Instead of putting 240 briefs into a ballot for season-ticket holders, many fans answering the club’s announcement asked instead for the all of the tickets to be given to player’s families, disadvantaged children or NHS staff:

@jackmoffat66: “Give them all to the players and staffs families, they deserve it more than us after the season they’ve gave us.”

@ambraaden: “Instead of a ballot just give the remaining tickets to community families & make a day off it for them.”

@JDHibs: “If rather all tickets were given to families of the players & staff. Disadvantaged children or the NHS staff.”

@Parmaham22: “Meh keep mine, feels a bit pointless being at a cup final socially distanced. Ffs how do you do a socially distanced pitch invasion!! Good luck to those who want to go, I think it will be a very strange experience.”

@DScott2401: “I agree with the other fans. As much as I’d love to be there, I’d hate to be there at the expense of the players’ families and friends plus disadvantaged members of society who I think should come first.”

@Marcobambino70: “I agree with the majority. Give them to the players so their families can see them play in a cup final.”

@RobbieSincIair: “Should be boycotting taking any tickets lads, it's an insulting number.”
