Sky Sports make ANOTHER Scottish football gaffe as broadcaster confuses Hibs man for Cardiff City player
A tweet from the Sky Sports Scotland Twitter account showing a clip of Dillon Barnes pulling off a good save to deny Gers defender Leon Balogun was accompanied by the caption: “BIG SAVE! Leon Balogun thought he’d doubled Rangers' lead but Dillon Phillips was on hand to deny him from point-blank range.”
Dillon Phillips is a goalkeeper for English Championship side Cardiff City. He began his career with Charlton and after loan spells with Whitehawk, Bishop’s Stortford, and Cheltenham made the move to Wales in October.

Hide AdBarnes joined Hibs on loan from Queen’s Park Rangers during the summer and made his first Scottish Premiership start against Rangers. He played during the Betfred Cup group stages and made his league debut when he replaced Ofir Marciano during Hibs’ 1-0 win against St Mirren.
It’s not the first time that Sky Sports have got themselves in a muddle with Scottish football. Their catalogue of errors in the past has included displaying incorrect team crests, getting manager names wrong, and on one occasion using a former player to advertise coverage of an Old Firm clash.
Reacting to the Barnes / Phillips blunder Gareth Clews wrote: “I'm certain that Sky Sports are now in on the joke about getting basic things wrong when it comes to Scottish football.”
Hibs fan Cameron Ward added: “Dillon Phillips… Sky’s untouchable coverage of Scottish football coming up again.”
