The Hibs midfielder hasn’t been able to hold down a regular starting berth under Jack Ross and was linked with a move to the Super Lig earlier in the transfer window but despite the move appearing to have stalled, an agreement has been struck that will see the 24-year-old turn out for Hamza Hamzaoğlu’s team.

Yeni Malatyaspor currently occupy tenth place in the Turkish top flight, with seven wins, seven draws, and seven defeats from their 21 matches so far.

Mallan is understood to have been open to the move in the search for first team football and although Ross would have preferred not to lose the former Barnsley man, the switch has gone through with Malatyaspor having an option to buy included in the deal.

The midfielder has played 95 times in green and white, scoring 20 goals.

Meanwhile, Jamie Gullan has returned to Raith Rovers for a third loan spell until the end of the 2020/21 campaign. The forward has played 20 times for Hibs so far this term, mostly off the bench, and has scored two goals.

Raith boss John McGlynn said: “I’m delighted to welcome Jamie back to the club. He was a very popular member of the team in the first half of last season and was our top league goal scorer.

"There is no doubt Jamie has gained even more experience by playing in Hibs first team, which we hope will benefit us going forward.”
