The 23-year-old is attracting interest from England after a hugely productive season for far at Easter Road, netting 12 goals in 25 appearances.

The Scottish Sun report his performances have led to the Black Cats approaching Hibs about his availability.

Ex-Hearts midfielder Lee Johnson was appointed new Sunderland boss last month and he is looking to shape his squad as they look to escape League One.

The Wearsiders have reportedly asked Hibs for a valuation on the striker who was signed from Dunfermline Athletic in the summer for a six-figure fee.

Hibs, who are nearing a deal for Chris Cadden, will be looking to hold on to the player and will likely attach a hefty price tag to the striker.
