Warren O'Hora sends emotional message to Hibs after transfer exit as words can't express love for Easter Road

The defender has swapped Hibs for Leicester City in England.

Warren O’Hora has sent an emotional message to Hibs after exiting for Leicester City.

The Irish defender joined in 2024 and made 85 appearances, captaining head coach David Gray’s side on occasion, and reunites with Russell Martin who he worked with at MK Dons. He will be tasked with helping the Foxes out of League One but O’Hora has warm words over his time in Leith.

He has thanked the club for a memorable couple of seasons that has included European football, derby wins, victories over Rangers and Celtic plus a third placed finish. O’Hora will continue watching on from afar as the first Edinburgh derby of this season looms versus Hearts at Easter Road on Thursday.

What has Warren O’Hora said about leaving Hibs?

He wrote on social media: “Two incredible years at Hibernian FC. I’ve loved every minute of my time at this amazing club and city. I’ve made some unbelievable memories and met so many special people along the way — from my teammates and staff to the incredible fans who made Easter Road feel like home.

“I’ll miss this place, the people and the atmosphere more than I can put into words. Edinburgh will always have a piece of my heart and my daughters. Thank you for everything, Hibs. All the very best for the season ahead! GGTTH.”

O’Hora said of his switch to the King Power Stadium: “I’m really excited to get started here. Leicester is a massive club with big ambitions, and I’m looking forward to being part of that and helping the team achieve its goals.“I’m ready for the challenge and can’t wait to get going, meet my new team-mates and play in front of the supporters at King Power Stadium.”
