The 22-year-old was in impressive form for the Sons, keeping a clean sheet at Firhill in the League One clash against one of the title favourites.

Dabrowski’s big moment came in the 40th minute when he faced Thistle striker Brian Graham from 12 yards after Stuart Carswell was penalised for handball.

Graham struck the penalty sweetly but the Hibs loan star got down to his right brilliantly and met the effort with a strong hand before the Thistle forward hit the rebound over the bar.

It was one of a few saves from the goalkeeper during the game but by far his best in what was his ninth appearance for Dumbarton.

He celebrated the penalty save after the match by cheekily tagging Graham into an Instagram post with the caption: “Happy to get a clean sheet with the boys! PS @briangraham1987 told ya u won’t score.”
