When the transfer opens for Hearts and Hibs - Arsenal linked with £5m Easter Road ace
As soon as the season finished last month, focus switched to the summer transfer window and next campaign.
For Hearts and Hibs like most clubs, it is a forever evolving project.
Targets are constantly being unearthed and scrutinised as clubs are forever planning for the next transfer window.
This summer, Hearts will be looking to make the signings which will help Robbie Neilson’s men hit the ground running on their return to the top-flight.
The Tynecastle side are prioritising a centre-back and creative midfielder with talks already held with targets.
Meanwhile, over at Easter Road, it is about building on last season’s third place finish.
Daniel Mackay has already been signed with centre-back and striker areas likely considered in the target list already drawn up.
Fans have had their say on who they would like to see the club sign.
Perhaps just as important as who the club sign is who they will hold on to.
Martin Boyle, Kevin Nisbet, Ryan Porteous and Josh Doig are all likely to attract interest this summer.
It was reported by Goal.com that Arsenal are keen on the latter, although Hibs have slapped a £5million price tag on the teenager and will want a sizeable sell-on clause.
As of tomorrow – Wednesday, June 9 – the transfer window will be open for clubs to do business.
The window in Scotland will remain open until Tuesday, August 31, at 11pm. After that it closes until January and clubs would only be able to sign players who were free agents before it closed.
