Rangers sign goalkeeper Matt Gilks on two-year deal
The former Blackpool and Burnley player has arrived to “to provide competition to current number one Wes Foderingham”, according to the Rangers website.
Hearts had held talks with the player in the hope of bringing him to Tynecastle but he has opted to join Rangers.

Hide AdGilks, 34, was capped three times by Scotland during his Blackpool days.
He left to join Burnley in summer 2014 but struggled to make the first-team breakthrough at Turf Moor because of the form of Tom Heaton.
In two seasons there, Gilks was restricted to just two League Cup appearances.
He began his career at Rochdale in League Two and spent eight seasons there before being transferred firstly to Norwich City where he made no appearances and then Blackpool in 2008.

Hide AdHe helped them win promotion to the Premier League in 2010 and played 18 times in England’s top league in Blackpool’s only season there before they were relegated.
A Rangers statement said: “He will begin training with his new team-mates immediately and will travel with the rest of the squad to South Carolina next week for their pre-season training camp.”
