Red-hot Horribine helps Spartans on way to win

After a goalless opening 45 minutes, midfielder Dean Horribine continued his phenomenal recent goalscoring run by sweeping Spartans into the lead five minutes after the break, netting his 11th goal in his last nine appearances.
Dougie Samuel’s side then doubled their advantage just two minutes later. Craig Stevenson sent in a wicked delivery that was met by Keith Murray, who headed home.

Hide AdJack Beesley came off the bench to continue his return to full fitness after a long injury lay-off and marked his latest cameo with a goal. George Hunter’s clever flick sent Beesley clear in the area and he made no mistake in sliding the ball home to round off a satisfying night for the Ainslie Park club.
The win keeps Spartans just a point behind behind Stirling University in the table ahead of Saturday’s Groundhog UK fixture, which sees second play third respectively in Pilton with a 5.00pm kick-off.
