Scots face Sweden at Stark’s

Scotland women’s football star Rachel Corsie reckons this afternoon’s International Challenge match with Sweden at Stark’s Park is the ideal preparation for her side ahead of next month’s double header against Israel and Republic of Ireland.

The 40-times capped Glasgow City defender is relishing the opportunity to face Scotland boss Anna Signuel’s home nation in Kirkcaldy (kick-off 3pm).

Sweden reached the semi-final stage in last year’s World Cup and Corsie said: “It’s important preparation for the forthcoming qualifiers and to play a side of this calibre is a great opportunity for us to show that we can compete at the very top level.

“As a squad we have continued to make progress over the last few years and our ambition remains to reach the finals of a major tournament.

“The number of supporters coming along to cheers us on in recent qualifiers has been exceptional and we hope to see our crowds continue to rise.”
