Spartans see off Soutars

Spartans 3Selkirk 1

Spartans booked their place in the semi-finals of the Image Printers Cup with a 3-1 victory over Selkirk. The tie was moved to Ainslie Park as Selkirk’s Yarrow Park was ruled unplayable for the third weekend in a row.

Spartans opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when Keith McLeod headed down an Andy Martin cross to the feet of Chris Anderson, who hit the ball on the half volley into the top corner of the net. Just three minutes later, Keith McLeod beat the offside trap and coolly slotted the ball past the Selkirk keeper from the edge of the box.
