Strollers routed by Thistle

Civil took the lead early on when Rennie broke away and was judged to have been fouled in the box by the keeper and a penalty was awarded. Rennie then stepped up and smashed the ball past the Lothian Thistle goalkeeper. Joe Murray leveled just before the interval with a terrific header from close range.

Lloyd Dignan put Lothian in front when he was played in at the near post and his header beat the keeper. Murray got his second with a superbly placed overhead kick squeezed in the top corner of the goal.

Omar Ali then got on the score sheet when he broke the offside trap and lifted the ball over Paul Cadger and into the net.

A few minutes later Ali got his second when he was played in and his shot nestled low in the corner.

In stoppage time Andrew Sinclair was left unmarked at the back post and when the ball came in he fired it into the net to complete the rout.
