Whitehill boss faces old pal

WHITEHILL boss Grant Carnie is relishing locking horns with Edinburgh City co-manager Gary Jardine whom he grew up with and played alongside at various clubs.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting Gary and hopefully getting one over on my old team,” said Carnie ahead of the clash at Meadowbank Stadium which kicks off at 7.30pm.

Whitehill drew 3-3 with Leith Athletic at the weekend despite going 2-0 down and playing an hour with only nine men after Dayne Robertson and John Hall were both sent off in the same incident. Robertson and Hall are both suspended although Aaron Somerville and Jim Young both return.

City’s Kenny Ross is doubtful while Christophe Melon is unavailable. Also in action tonight at Saughton Enclosure are Lothian Thistle and Spartans who meet in the second round of the King Cup, kick-off 7.30pm.
