Whitehill may freshen team up for raft of fixtures
Interim Whitehill Welfare boss Ian Flynn admits he may try and freshen things up for tonight's visit of Stirling University to Ferguson Park
Welfare played three games in seven days last week – a process that will be repeated from now until the season’s end due to a raft of postponed fixtures over the winter. A win over Gala Fairydean Rovers and a victory and a defeat respectively against East Kilbride leaves the Roswell club in the middle of the Ferrari Packaging Lowland League table.
Flynn will consider changes, but revealed it’ll make for difficult decisions. “We’ll wait and see,” he said. “When you’ve got 11 guys who are giving you absolutely everything, it’s hard to leave them out.” He’ll have to leave out central defender Nikki Murray though, as he is suspended.
Elsewhere, Spartans visit Vale of Leithen after a week’s rest, Saturday’s away game at Dalbeattie Star having been called off after heavy rain. Vale will be under the charge of temporary boss Mark Lamb, appointed after former Spartans and Whitehill manager Mickey Lawson decided to end his time in the Victoria Park hot seat following the weekend defeat to Threave Rovers.
