The 20-year-old midfielder has made one first-team appearance for the club – a Petrofac Cup defeat by Livingston in August 2014 – with untimely injuries dashing his hopes of more action. However, he remains highly rated by Hearts’ management and will become a fully-fledged member of the first team next term after signing a new deal which will keep him at the club until May 2017.

“It’s been quite a challenging year for me, with my injury at the start of the season, but I’m delighted to get a contract,” Beith told Hearts’ website. “This is my last year of U20s, so next season will be my first year of stepping up into the first team. I need to prove that I can handle that and do well, then I can try and fight for another extension.”
