Golf: Longniddry have league title in grasp

LONGNIDDRY look set to be crowned as the East Lothian Winter Golf League champions for the first time since 1985.It follows Chris Wood’s side winning 3-2 at Gullane to all but wrap up the title heading into the final round of matches.

Tantallon, who beat Haddington to consign them to relegation, are now the only side that can deny Longniddry.

But even a 5-0 win for them in their final game will not prove enough if Longniddry win a single match at home to Musselburgh.
