Golf: Start pleases Culverwell

ZANDER CULVERWELL is relishing the season ahead after claiming fourth spot in the Scottish Champion of Champions at Leven.

The former Lothians champion signed off with a three-under-par 68 for a five-under-par total of 289, four shots behind winner Fraser McKenna of Balmore.

“It’s a good way to start the season,” said Culverwell, last year’s Battle Trophy winner at Crail. “I’ve got a lot of golf coming up and I’m really looking forward to some big tests ahead.”

Silverknowes star Graham Robertson finished in a tie for 13th in the Fife event after recovering well from a shaky ten holes.
