Musselburgh golfers go barefoot to raise money for charity
The bold step was taken as members of the East Lothian club rose to a challenge set by CCLASP, a long established charity supporting children with cancer & leukaemia and their families.
CCLASP had invited golf clubs in Edinburgh and the Lothians to ask a member or two to kick off their shoes and play some barefoot golf in aid of the charity.

At Musselburgh, the idea captured the imagination of club captain Stuart Wright, who was joined by head pro Norman Huguet, as well as the club champion, junior champion, ladies’ captain and others in kicking off their shoes and hitting some shots.
The amount raised on the day remains a secret since other golf clubs are in the fundraising race, with the challenge closing today.
Valerie Simpson, the CEO of CCLASP, said: “We are overwhelmed that so many people are rising to the barefoot golf challenge and helping to raise much needed funds.”
