This year’s application process led to £2,000 being awarded to four “deserving causes” in the local community.

Covid-19 has had such an impact on the ability of many small organisations and charities being able to carry out their normal fund-raising activities,” said General Manager, Elaine McBride.

“The club was very aware of this and was keen to ensure that now more than ever they were able to make a difference to a number of local organisations.”

Organisations that have benefited this year are Dirleton PlayGroup, North Berwick in Bloom, North Berwick Brownies and North Berwick Community Council.

Judy Lockhurt, chairman of the North Berwick Community Council, said: “Thank you to the golf club for continuing to make the Community Fund available despite the trying times we find ourselves in.”

The club’s members include Solheim Cup captain Catriona Matthew.
