Stephen Gallacher is heading into the month-long European Tour break as the top Scot in this season’s Race to Dubai.
It follows the Lothians star chalking up a second top-10 finish in three events as he claimed a share of seventh spot behind English winner Matt Wallace in the Hero Indian Open.
Gallacher, who also finished ninth in the recent NBO Oman Open, had a fourth European Tour title in his sights after picking up two birdies in the first four holes in the final round in New Delhi to move to eight-under. His momentum was then halted by back-to-back bogeys at the start of the back nine before dropping further shots at the 14th and 16th, seeing him close with a 74.
The 43-year-old, who’d stormed into contention with a best-of-the-day 67 on Saturday, picked up €38,857, jumping to 51st in the Race to Dubai with earnings of €127,742,
Gallacher has made the cut in all six event events he’s teed up so far in 2018, filling him with confidence for when the circuit re-starts with the Spanish Open in mid-April.
