Hockey: Grange demolish Hillhead

PHIL Sully and Robert Barr both claimed doubles as Grange warmed up for the European Hockey League with a 6-1 victory over Hillhead at Edinburgh’s Peffermill in their opening Division One game of the new season.

And it could have been more had the Glasgow side’s goalkeeper, Jamie Frail, not been in such good form. Sully said: “We’re a stronger squad this season and it shows.

“Their goalkeeper had a good game but we could have had more.”

Grange were 2-0 ahead at the break
before Hillhead lost
defender Iain Hilton with a suspected dislocated finger early in the second half which disrupted their plans.

Grange took full advantage firing four goals with only one in reply.
