Hockey: Kelburne victory cuts Grange's lead at top

Grange saw their lead at the top of hockey's Division One trimmed to one point following a 4-1 win by second-placed Bromac Kelburne over Hillhead.

Bottom club Inverleith lost 4-1 at home to Western Wildcats, who consolidated fourth place in the ten-strong division thanks to a treble from Andrew McConnell. Magnus Ferrier scored for Inverleith.

Grove Menzieshill confirmed third place in the table with a 4-0 win at Edinburgh University with goals from Albert Rowling, Gavin Tomlinson, Cameron Golden and Gavin Byers.

Meanwhile, Edinburgh University women remain in pole position in Division One despite being held to a 0-0 draw by Grove Menzieshill at Peffermill.

Milne Craig Clydesdale Western moved to within two points of the champions after beating GHK 4-0.

Watsonians created an upset with a 2-0 win over Western Wildcats with goals from Heather Tait and Mairi Shaw.

Dundee Wanderers are now threatening a top-four spot after beating Grange 5-2 in Edinburgh.
