Musketeers ready to duel

With tenants Boroughmuir Blaze men away to Dunfermline Reign tomorrow at Queen Anne HS (4pm), it is the turn of Polonia Phoenix to act as hosts at the Crags Sports Centre on Sunday when they face new senior side Tayside Musketeers in the Scottish Women’s
Basketball League at 3.20pm.

Phoenix, who had an
exciting game with eventual champions Glasgow Rocks at the same venue at the end of last season, report that all their main players are back for another year including veteran centre Julie Ritchie, who returned to the Scottish international ranks after a long gap when she played in the Euro C Tournament in Ohrid, Macedonia
(FYROM) last July.

“We’re looking strong again,” she said.

Tayside, who lost by just one point, 74-73, away to Falkirk Fury in their debut game last weekend, will be without Yhana van Wees, who was injured in the junior game with Fury.
