Few gave Paulo Sergio’s side much of a chance back in 2012 at Hampden Park, just as last year’s cup final side were written off ahead of the narrow 2-1 defeat in the Scottish Cup final.
Many of the 14 players who played a part that day more than eight years ago are remembered fondly, not only for the win over Celtic but by becoming legends in winning the biggest Edinburgh derby in the rivalry’s history.
We take a trip down memory lane to look at the team which defeated Celtic, the role they played and what they are up to now.

A super left-hand to deny Charlie Mulgrew at a corner kick before celebrating after the ball was cleared. Beaten by Gary Hooper at point-blank range. A couple of big moments late on. Now playing for and starring with Raith Rovers. Photo: SNS Group Alan Harvey
2. Ryan McGowan
The Australian was a goalscoring hero in the final. Some brilliant celebrations before and after Craig Beattie’s penalty in the semi-final. Recently won the A-League title with Sydney FC in his homeland. Photo: SNS Group Jeff Holmes
3. Marius Zaliukas
It was the Lithuanian’s shot which won the late penalty which allowed Beattie to score the winning goal. The effort was going nowhere near the goal. News of the club legend’s death was discovered during the semi-final win over Hibs in October. Photo: SNS Group Jeff Holmes
4. Andy Webster
There was a late call from Celtic for a penalty of their own in the dying seconds when a shot was hit against the centre-back. Euan Norris ignored it. A player who won over fans after his departure from the club the first time around. He’s now a coach at St Mirren. Photo: SNS Group Craig Williamson
