Edinburgh Monarchs Academy go entire season unbeaten in historic title triumph
The Edinburgh Monarchs Academy rounded off their remarkable National League Development campaign by going the entire season undefeated.
The 53-37 victory over the Leicester Lion Cubs wrapped up an historic year for the Scottish outfit who were also crowned league champions last month.
Success at the Hydroscand Arena - the club's tenth consecutive win - completed an unblemished record in 2026, a feat that hasn't been seen since the Oxford Cheetahs won all 18 of their league meetings 40 years ago.
Team manager Scott Wilson said: "It feels amazing. Obviously we knew we had won the league a couple of meetings ago and the goal immediately became can we go unbeaten.
"Everybody was really motivated and we saw that on Saturday night. Leicester are a very very good team but we did it convincingly.
"All the way to heat 15 we were still passing and we were just so driven. To win the championship and go unbeaten I'm just very proud of the entire group."
