Edinburgh Monarchs tie up duo for 2027 speedway season
The Edinburgh Monarchs have announced both Jonatan Grahn and Jordy Loftus will return to the club in 2027.
The duo join Kye Thomson in returning to the Capital outfit when the new speedway season gets underway in the spring.

The signings of Grahn and Loftus were announced at the club's end-of-season awards dinner at the Village Hotel on Saturday night.
Both riders enjoyed a productive 2026 as the Monarchs reached the Championship play-off semi-finals before being eliminated by eventual winners the Poole Pirates. They did, however, finish the season off with silverware with defeat of arch-rivals the Glasgow Tigers over two legs to reclaim the Scottish Cup.

Swede Grahn is thrilled to be returning the the Scottish side for a third consecutive year.
"It feels really good to know that I am coming back next year," the 26-year-old said. "It was a high priority for me to be back with Edinburgh. It suits me well as I think this season I really started to know our home track so I want to build on that and be a part of this club.
"My first year I was reserve, then this season I was in the main body of the team, so I want to be more consistent and better. Hopefully I can build on that in 2027 and get my average a bit higher.
"I will be working over the winter, but even when I am working it's speedway all the time because you need to work with sponsors and I have six bikes to rebuild over the winter which will take a lot of time ,so I'll be in the workshop a lot."
Australian teenager Loftus joined the club in June 2025. The youngster is heading back Down Under tomorrow with mum and dad Miranda and James, as well as sister Anika, who alongside her sibling, raced for champions the Edinburgh Monarchs Academy in the National Development League.
"I am delighted," the 17-year-old said. "I had a rough start to this season but finished well. I improved a lot, got a lot of help from my team-mates so I'm really looking forward to next year.
"It's been a massive help having all of my family over this year. When you look back at riders like Max Fricke, he was over here and had to do it all by himself, so having that help from my mum and dad has just made life ten times easier.
"I want to get my average higher and improve further. With the age I'm at, there's another rule coming into the Premiership for the rising star position (under-21) so I'm looking to see if I can get a spot there, and that would help me improve if I was riding three to four times per week.
"I'm leaving tomorrow to head back to Australia so I'm looking forward to Sedgy's (Justin Sedgmen) testimonial which will be one of the main meetings I am doing. I'll be doing a lot of practice too, keeping warm on the bike."
