Best patterns so far have been yellow rabbit and diawl bach and Karen, who is into her eighth season at Loganlea, is open seven days a week. She has four boats in the water and has re-stocked for the season.

Karen said: “The weather has been difficult but anglers have been catching which is good to see.”

Traditionally, the shallows have been best early season but fishermen have been hooking hard-fighting trout near the harbour area.

Over to sea fishing, and Derek Anderson confirmed that Sagittarius would sail this weekend from Eyemouth after being confined to dock because of bad weather for three weeks. There are spaces available so ring 07860 804316.
